Advocacy is something that few people can do effectively, having a disability, the stigma and vulnerability this can create, often makes it even more difficult for a person to advocate for themselves. We know that advocacy skills can be learnt and as a service we adopta supportive role in our advocacy work. This means where possible we support people with a disability to advocate for themselves, if a person feels unable to do this, we can advocate on their behalf to ensure that they get the services and resources they need.
Please feel free to discuss the role of advocacy and how we can help with this.
